How to Delete Your Truecaller Account and Unlist Your Phone Number Safely

Truecaller is widely used to identify unknown numbers, check caller information, and receive alerts about spam or scam calls. While this service is helpful for tracking calls, many users are concerned about privacy and prefer not to have their details publicly accessible. If you want to maintain privacy, you can deactivate your Truecaller account and unlist your phone number from their database.

To delete your Truecaller account via the app, start by opening the app on your phone. If it is not installed, Android users can download it from Google Play Store, and iPhone users can get it from the Apple App Store. Once installed, open the app and access settings. Android users can tap the three-dot menu at the top right corner, while iPhone users can tap their profile photo in the same location.

Next, scroll to the Privacy Center section and select Deactivate My Account. The app will ask for confirmation, explaining that you will no longer have access to caller identification, spam protection, and other Truecaller features. Confirm by tapping Yes and then Continue. Your account will be deactivated within a few minutes.

After deactivation, to remove your number from Truecaller’s database entirely, visit the Truecaller website and navigate to the Unlisting section. Here you can either change your display name or unlist your number. Select the Unlist Your Number option, enter your phone number in the text box, and confirm. Truecaller may take up to 24 hours to process your request and fully remove your number from public access.
