Apart from Simon Katich, former South African batsman Hashim Amla has been appointed as the team’s batting coach. Amla has a lot of experience in the South African team and has scored 88 centuries for the team. Apart from that, Amla, who has made his mark in the Indian Premier League too, has succeeded in scoring two centuries.

Along with Amla, New Zealand player and Mumbai Indians batsman James Palmont has been appointed as the fielding coach, while another former South African cricketer Robin Pietersen has been appointed as the team’s general manager.

After being selected as the head coach, Katich said, “I am proud to have been given the position of the head coach of the Mumbai Indians Cape Town team. Building a new team is always special as it provides a great opportunity to develop skills and create a team culture. Amla also said, “I am thrilled to take on the responsibility of Mumbai Indians Cape Town.”
