Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 mini auction will be held in Dubai on December 19. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) along with Mumbai Indians (MI) are the joint-most successful team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) having won the coveted trophy five times. Chennai Super Kings will buy these 3 players in the IPL 2024 auction.

Chennai Super Kings most recent win was during IPL 2023 in the final against the then defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT). In one of the greatest matches ever played in IPL history, CSK sealed victory on the last ball.

There is a lot of buzz about IPL 2024, the auction of which will be held at the end of this month. The World Cup, which concluded in November, saw the emergence of many young stars on the sport’s biggest stage. Teams will definitely look to grab one of those talents.

CSK’s purse before the IPL 2024 auction stands at INR 31.40 crore. The minimum number of players in a team is 18, which means that the Men in Yellow already have one more player than the minimum requirement. They have three overseas slots vacant.

The five-time champions have a strong Indian batting core with Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dubey, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja sharing the responsibility of scoring runs. However, they will look to add another Indian batsman to the squad following the retirement of Ambati Rayudu. Meanwhile, their bowling department looks a bit thin.

Tushar Deshpande emerged as one of the leading wicket takers, but he was very expensive. Matheesha Pathirana became CSK’s very own Lasith Malinga, but he has been out of form for Sri Lanka in the last few months. They hope to include one Indian bowler and one experienced overseas bowler.

He is quite good against spinners and can provide a third spinner option at Chepauk with his deceptively slow left-arm spin bowling. Ravindra will provide enough balance to the team.

Manish Pandey

Chennai Super Kings have a good record of buying India’s out-of-sorts batsmen in their 30s and turning them into match-winners. Same as Ajinkya Rahane. Manish Pandey can be a suitable replacement for Ambati Rayudu who has announced his retirement. In a team that has no experienced Indian batsman outside the playing XI, Pandey could prove to be a key addition to the squad. He is a good player of spin and could be a solid middle order option for MS Dhoni.

Pat Cummins

The World Cup winning Australian captain could and should be one of the priorities for CSK in the auction. Cummins showed his leadership skills and proactive approach during Australia’s famous campaign. He is a player who leads the bowling attack, but can also provide a batting option, thus giving CSK the depth they always have in the playing XI.
