According to reports, the 2024 mini-auction for the IPL will be held on December 19 in Dubai and plenty of players will go to the hammer on the day, with a total of 1,166 cricketers to be exact registered for the auction with only 77 slots to be filled.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season is months away from the start and excitement is already in the air with events like retention day and auction day taking place in the next two or three weeks. These Indian Capped Players may Unsold in IPL 2024.
According to reports, the 2024 mini-auction for the IPL will be held on December 19 in Dubai and plenty of players will go to the hammer on the day, with a total of 1,166 cricketers to be exact registered for the auction with only 77 slots to be filled.
A maximum of 30 foreign players can join the ten franchises to be picked up in the auction. According to the IPL 2024 short-auction registration list, there are 830 Indians 18 are capped players along with 336 overseas cricketers.
Harshal Patel, Kedar Jadhav, Shardul Thakur and Umesh Yadav raised their base prices to a maximum of Rs. 2 crore, the other 14 – Varun Aaron, KS Bharat, Siddharth Kaul, Dhawal Kulkarni, Shivam Mavi, Shahbaz Nadeem, Karun Nair, Manish Pandey, Chetan Sakaria, Mandeep Singh, Barinder Sran, Jaydev Unadkat, Hanuma Vihari and Sandeep Warrier will be available at a reserve price of Rs.50 lakhs.
These Indian capped players may unsold in IPL 2024 auction:
Kedar Jadhav’s starting price is Rs 2 crore. The former India player has spent a lot of time away from the IPL. The veteran acquisition from RCB as a replacement from the previous season was also ineffective as he did not play.
Hanuma Vihari:
Over time, Hanuma Vihari has not been a consistent player in the IPL. The 16-time Test player for India has only featured in 24 IPL matches since his 2013 debut and he has not featured in a game since 2019.
Varun Aaron:
Despite all his talents, India’s pace sensation Varun Aaron has never been an IPL success story. Despite featuring in more than 50 IPL matches, the Jharkhand player’s performance has been, somewhat, lackluster.
Shahbaz Nadeem:
Shahbaz Nadeem has seen a phenomenal rise in the IPL. After performing incredibly well for Delhi Capitals, the left-arm spinner was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for an incredible INR 3.2 crore in 2019. But after that he was not picked by any team from 2022 onwards.
