The India Today-Axis My India exit poll results for Karnataka Assembly election predicts a clear majority for the Congress, with the grand old party expected to win 122 to 140 seats. Meanwhile, the BJP may win on 62 to 80 seats, while JD(S) may clinch victory on 20 to 25 seats, as per exit polls predicted.

As per Matrize exit polls prediction, the Congress may win on 103 to 118 seats while the BJP may bag 79 to 94 seats. The JD(S) may win on 23 to 33 seats, as per exit polls.

P-MARQ predicts hung Assembly:

As per P-MARQ exit polls prediction, BJP may win 85 to 100 seats while the Congress may win 94 to 108 seats. Meanwhile, the JD(S) may win on 24 to 32 seats, as per exit polls.

Mysore region:

The Congress is likely to gain massive support in the Mysore region consisting 62 assembly seats.

BJP: 9-11 (-5)

Congress: 30-34 (+14)

JD(S): 18-22 (-7)

2. Bombay Karnataka:

The Congress is likely to be ahead of the BJP in Bombay Karnataka consisting 50 assembly seats.

The BJP is likely to retain power in Coastal Karnataka consisting 19 assembly seats.

Karnataka witnessed a record voter turnout of 72.36 percent in the 2018 Karnataka Assembly polls. In the 2018 elections, the BJP had emerged as the single largest party by winning 104 seats, followed by Congress with 80 seats and JD(S) with 37 seats. There was also one independent member, while the BSP and Karnataka Pragnyavantha Janatha Party (KPJP) got one legislator each elected.

With no party getting a clear majority at the time and as Congress and JD(S) were trying to forge an alliance, BJP leader BS Yediyurappa staked a claim and formed the government. However, the government was dissolved within three days, ahead of a trust vote, as Yediyurappa was unable to muster the numbers.
