Karnataka BJP President: Former CM BS Yediyurappa suggest surprise name

Karnataka BJP President: It is reported that former CM BS Yediyurappa has suggested surprised name for the post of state BJP unit president before the High Command who had gone to Delhi.

It is said that the High Command has almost agreed to the name suggested by BS Yediyurappa. It is reported that the name of the new state president has been withheld as the name of the leader of the opposition has not been finalised.

BS Yediyurappa left for Delhi on July 2 in the wake of High Command call. At this time, he had a long discussion with the leaders of the high command regarding the election of the opposition leader and the state president. It is said that there have been discussions that the position of leader of the opposition party should be given to the Lingayat community, while the post of president of the state unit should be given to the Okkaliga community.

BS Yediyurappa suggested the name of Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje who is known in his close circle. As BSY has said that there is a need for a strong state president as the Lok Sabha elections are coming up. When BS Yediyurappa was the Chief Minister for the first time, Shobha Karandlaje had a strong grip on the government. Shobha Karandlaje has experience of working in the state government as well.

Shobha Karandlaje’s name was dropped when BS Yediyurappa became the CM for the second term. It is reported that BS Yediyurappa suggested Shobha Karandlaje’s name for state president as she was a close associate.

It is said that BS Yediyurappa and his group became active after BL Santosh’s group became inactive after the election defeat. BS Yediyurappa BY Vijayendra and Shobha Karandlaje had a meeting recently. It is reported that in this meeting a decision was taken to go together.
