Former Indian cricketer Praveen Kumar car major accident

Former Indian cricketer fast bowler Praveen Kumar and his son have reportedly been involved in a car accident after their vehicle was hit by a truck in Meerut. The duo is said to be safe. The accident occurred on Tuesday night when Praveen was returning from Pandav Nagar with a truck ramming into the car he was traveling in at a high speed.

Former Indian cricketer Praveen Kumar narrowly avoided a major accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut city on Tuesday. The former Indian pacer was also accompanied by his son when he was hit by a speeding canter. According to ABP news, the incident took place around 4 pm on Tuesday when Praveen was coming from the Pandav Nagar area via his Land Rover Defender car when his car collided with the canter near the commissioner’s residence.

While Praveen Kumar’s car was severely damaged both the former Indian cricketer and his son escaped unhurt from the accident. Civil Line Police is reported to have reached the spot immediately and arrested the canter driver. Praveen Kumar has represented India in all three formats of the game i.e. Test matches, ODI and T20.

In the 68 games he played for India in the ODI format, Kumar took 78 wickets at an economy of 5.13 and a strike rate of 36.03 with best figures of 4/31. This is the second time in less than a year that an Indian cricketing star has survived after going through a major accident.

Just last year, Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant had a miraculous escape when his luxury car crashed into the road divider and caught fire after he dozed off at the wheel on the Delhi-Dehradun highway.
