It has been decided to close some tourist spots on the polling day on 10th May. , this time the Election Commission has come forward to put a break on this. Everyone should vote compulsorily. It is known that this decision has been made with the intention of increasing the percentage of voting.

As voting is on May 10, there is a ban on entry of tourists to the world-famous Jog falls on that day. Instead of exercising their rights on polling day, many voters have developed a habit of going to tourist destinations to enjoy the holiday. In order to put a break on this, District Collector Dr. R. Selvamani has restricted the viewing of Jog falls on election day.

If the tourist spots are not restricted by voting, the management authority staff will have to perform duty for the tourists coming. In addition to these, local businessmen, photographers, street vendors, guides, auto drivers, taxi drivers, security personnel and many others are likely to stay out of voting. The Collector said that this action has been taken considering the number of tourists registered in Joga Management Authority on polling days in the past.

In addition to this, there will be a ban on tiger and lion safari in Tyavarekoppa as well, said the staff there. The authorities have not yet decided about the ban in the Sakrebailu elephant camp. However, it is known that there is a possibility of imposing a ban here as well.

There has been a significant decrease in the number of visitors to tourist spots during the summer due to the intense sunshine and the election. Also the youth are busy in the election campaign. Thus Dakshina Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Vijayapur of North Karnataka, Badami, Hampi, Mysuru and many other districts of the state are struggling without tourists.
