Solar Eclipse September 2025: The solar eclipse on September 21, 2025, will be a partial solar eclipse. During a partial eclipse, the Moon covers only a portion of the Sun, so the Sun appears to have a crescent or “bitten” shape.

Solar Eclipse September 2025: Visibility

The eclipse will not be visible in India or in most of the Northern Hemisphere. Its visibility is limited to the Southern Hemisphere.

The countries and regions where the eclipse will be visible include:

New Zealand: This will be one of the best locations to view the eclipse, with up to 72% of the Sun being covered in southern cities like Dunedin.

Eastern Australia: Parts of the eastern coastline will also get a view of the partial eclipse during sunrise.

Antarctica: Observers here will also experience a significant degree of obscuration.

South Pacific Islands: Several island nations like Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga will be able to witness the event.

The eclipse will last approximately 4 hours and 24 minutes. It begins on September 21, 2025, at 10:59 PM IST (17:29 UTC) and ends on September 22, 2025, at 3:23 AM IST (21:53 UTC).
