Prime Minister Modi’s schedule for the day begins with his departure from Delhi at 8 am. He is expected to land at Mangaluru Airport at 11:05 am and will reach the Udupi helipad by helicopter at 11:35 am. A grand 2 km roadshow has been arranged on Udupi’s Rathabeedi leading to the Krishna Math, where thousands of people are expected to gather.

One of the key highlights of the visit is the inauguration of the golden-plated Kanakana Kindi, a sacred window associated with saint Kanakadasa. Modi will have darshan of Lord Krishna through this newly adorned window. This will be followed by an interaction with the Ashta Math seers and Vedic scholars, who will recite verses from the Upanishads, Vedas and the Bhagavad Gita.

Modi will then visit the Gita Mandir, where he will unveil the newly installed idol of Anantha Padmanabha. He is also scheduled to meditate briefly at the Dhyan Mandir before partaking in a light traditional Tulu meal arranged specially for the occasion.

The Laksha Kantha Bhagavad Gita recital will be one of the most anticipated segments of Modi’s visit. The Prime Minister is expected to sit on the ground along with participants and recite 10 verses from the Gita, symbolising the spiritual unity of the gathering. He will later address the devotees present at the event.

Meanwhile, in Malpe beach, artists have created an impressive sand sculpture to welcome Modi. The artwork features the Prime Minister alongside Lord Krishna, crafted meticulously by sand artist Harish Sagar and his team, who worked through the day to complete the colourful sculpture.

Another major attraction of today’s visit is the inauguration of the newly gold-plated Teertha Mantapa situated outside the sanctum sanctorum of the Sri Krishna Math. The structure, adorned with gold-covered pillars, ceiling and intricate carvings of conch, chakra, gada, lotus and gajapaksi motifs, has been sponsored by Tamil Nadu industrialist Ravi Shyam to mark the 50th year of Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji’s sannyasa deeksha.

Ahead of Modi’s arrival, district authorities have declared a holiday for anganwadis, primary and high schools falling under Udupi City, Malpe and Manipal police limits. After completing his Udupi engagements, the Prime Minister will fly to Mangaluru and later proceed to Goa for the inauguration of the newly installed Sri Ram idol.
