LPG cylinders now available at ration shops, get refilling

Now small FTL (Free Trade LPG) cylinders of 5 kg will also be available from ration shops in Uttar Pradesh. These cylinders, available under the brand name ‘Chhotu’, will be sold directly to the consumers. LPG cylinders now available at ration shops, get refilling.

Consumers will also be able to refill these cylinders at ration shops in Uttar Pradesh. For this, LPG cylinders distributors will contract with ration vendors and appoint them as Point of Sale. Ration shopkeepers will provide cylinders to the consumers at the permissible retail price through Point of Sale. Ration shopkeepers will get the margin money fixed by the oil companies in the form of dividend.

After the approval of the government, Food Commissioner Markandey Shahi has issued instructions in this regard to all the District Magistrates and District Supply Officers. Gas distributors will be allowed to enter into contracts with ration shopkeepers for LPG cylinders distribution only after the recommendation of the field officer of the oil company.

No more than 100 kg LPG cylinders of stock can be kept in any ration shop at a time. After the recommendation of the field officer of the oil company, this quantity can also be reduced depending on the location, size and accessibility of the shop. Identity card will have to be given for taking cylinder for the first time.

Additional Commissioner Food Anil Kumar Dubey said that while getting the cylinder for the first time to the consumer, the ration shopkeeper should have his voter ID, driving license, PAN card, Aadhar card, bank, passbook, employee ID card, passport, student ID etc. One has to be provided.
