Karnataka 17 District seeing Corona cases rise: PM Modi Call Virtual meeting with district deputy commissioners

Bengaluru : Karnataka 17 districts Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Uttara Kannada, Hassan, Ballari, Mysuru, Tumakuru, Kolar, Kodagu, Shivammogga, Udupi, Dharwad, Dakshina Kannada, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Mandya and Chikkaballapur seeing corona cases rise.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern over the rising of Covid-19 infections in these districts and said the virus is now spreading fast in small towns and villages of the country.

In this context, he has issued directions to speed up testing in these places. PM Modi will also directly interact with district deputy commissioners and collectors of these worst-affected districts on Tuesday.

The virtual meeting will be held at 11 am and will also be attended by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and other cabinet ministers.

Bengaluru Urban district tops the list of positive cases, with a total of 10,42,714 Covid cases, followed by Mysuru 1,10,316 and Tumakuru 79,341.
