Widespread rain and thunderstorms are likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep. Fairly widespread rain and thunderstorms are on the cards over Rayalaseema and Karnataka.

Scattered rain and thunderstorms are likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Isolated rain or snow has been forecast over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. Isolated rain has been predicted over Odisha, Jharkhand, East Rajasthan, Gujarat, Marathawada, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu, with a chance of thunderstorms.

Max temperatures above 40°C are likely in some parts of Interior Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, south Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Marathawada, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Heatwave conditions are forecast over Jammu, south Himachal Pradesh, south Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, East Madhya Pradesh and Interior Odisha.

Forecast summary for the next four days:

Widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during the next four days, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till Saturday, and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from June 9-11.

Isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Assam & Meghalaya from Thursday to Saturday. Isolated or scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during the next four days.

Westerly winds from the Arabian Sea over South Peninsular India are likely to result in fairly widespread to widespread light or moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep, scattered rainfall over Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, and isolated rains over Telangana during the next four days.

The previous weather events are also likely to result in isolated heavy rainfall over South Interior Karnataka on Wednesday, Coastal Karnataka from June 9-11, and over Kerala and Mahe till Saturday.
