Heavy Rainfall Alert in These places for next 48 hours, Issued Red Alert

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an announcement in this regard saying "West Madhya Pradesh is on red alert as it expects isolated heavy and very heavy rainfall including very heavy rainfall (exceeding 204.4 mm) from September 15 to 17.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for southwest Madhya Pradesh on Friday, predicting heavy rainfall for the next three days. The weather forecast agency has indicated similar rain activity over Southeast Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha on September 15, North Central Maharashtra on September 15 and Gujarat region from September 16-17.

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, Saurashtra and Kutch, Marathwada, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, where rainfall of 115.6 to 204.4 mm is likely. A well-marked low pressure area that has moved from Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent North Odisha-West Bengal coast is now over East Madhya Pradesh.

It is likely to move over West Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat during the next 3-4 days.
A cyclonic circulation at low tropical level from southwest Rajasthan to north coastal Odisha is associated with a well-marked low-pressure area at low tropical level over East Madhya Pradesh,” the India Meteorological Department said.

As a result of the fall in atmospheric pressure, the monsoon has intensified and there is a possibility of heavy rain in the next 48 hours in 5 districts of the Karnataka. Thus, the India Meteorological Department has announced a yellow alert. As a result, the monsoon has intensified. The direction of the wind has changed from the west and heavy rain is falling in the coastal areas.

Yellow alert has been issued for Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi districts of the coast. Some districts including Chikmagalur and Kodagu in the hill country will get good rain. Yellow alert has also been issued for Chikmagalur and Kodagu districts.

Western region including Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat are expected to witness widespread rain, thunder and lightning from September 15-18. Isolated areas in these regions may also experience heavy to heavy rainfall. In north central Maharashtra, heaviest rainfall is expected on September 16.

Over Northwest comprising Uttarakhand, Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Southwest Uttar Pradesh, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are forecast from September 15-17. Isolated heavy rains are expected and East Rajasthan is expected to experience heaviest rainfall on September 16 and 17.

Odisha and Jharkhand are likely to witness widespread rain, thunder and lightning on September 15 with continued activity on September 18 and 19. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are also in the path of these weather systems where heavy rainfall is expected.
