The primary objective of the free laptop distribution scheme is to promote digital education among students. Another objective of the Karnataka government is to provide technical education to students who cannot afford laptops on their own due to financial crisis.

This is done to encourage talented students who have excelled in class 12th board examination. Under this scheme, many incentives will be provided to all the students of Karnataka state. Especially, students doing professional courses in reputed colleges and polytechnic institutes will be able to benefit.

More than 1.50 lakh Karnataka students belonging to ST and SC categories will benefit from the scheme. Students will be given a laptop worth around Rs 32,000 to Rs 35,000.

Karnataka Free Laptop Scheme Eligibility Criteria:

First, the applicant must be a resident of the state of Karnataka. Applicants may belong to any category or any backward class. Student must have passed 12th standard or secondary PUC with good grades.

How to apply, what are the required documents?

If you need to apply, the required documents are Karnataka Residence Certificate, Aadhaar Card for Identity Card, Bank Account Details linked with Aadhaar Card, Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, Passport Size Photograph, Educational Certificate.

Building and other construction workers registered under Labor Officer-1, Sub Division Bangalore can obtain this facility from the office of the Senior Labor Inspector of the respective circle office and submit the application along with the necessary documents to the office where the application is received. September 26 is the last day to apply.
