Heavy Rainfall alert for next 3 days: schools closed

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that heavy rainfall alert in Karnataka for the next three-days and issued a yellow alert for the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga, Chikkamagalur, Kodagu, Hassan and Kolar. The fishermen in the coastal districts have been advised not to venture into the sea as winds are likely to blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. In Karnataka Bengaluru woke up to a cloudy morning with drizzles. The India Meteorological Department IMD has also said Heavy Rainfall alert and issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Ramnagar, Chamarajanagar, Tumakuru, Ballary and Chitradurga in Karnataka.

Residents of the state capital are experiencing a chill during evenings and early mornings. Due to Heavy Rainfall alert, the pothole menace has again surfaced in Bengaluru . Bengaluru Traffic police department has identified the potholes through Jio Map and Fix My Street App.

The situation is bad in many districts of Madhya Pradesh due to heavy rainfall alert. Flood threat looms large in many parts of the state. Due to the torrential rains, the standing crops in the fields have been damaged. At the same time, people had to suffer loss of life and property due to house collapse in many places.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has left from Bhopal to visit the flood affected districts of the state. CM Shivraj is conducting an aerial survey of Ganjbasoda in Vidisha district. In the past, there was heavy rain in Ganjbasoda. CM is taking stock of the situation here. In the flood affected areas, CM reached the affected people through boat and met.

After Vidisha Guna, CM is doing aerial survey of Rajgarh district. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is constantly taking updates on the situation in the state. On Tuesday, the CM held a virtual meeting with all the ministers to discuss in detail the areas affected by excessive rainfall.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked all the ministers to visit the rain-affected areas and help the people. Shivraj cabinet meeting to be held on Tuesday has been cancelled. Schools in Kota and Bundi districts of Rajasthan was closed today, August 23, 2022, as Heavy Rainfall alert continues in the state.

Due to Heavy Rainfall alert a flood-like condition in both districts, district management and the government decided to prolong the holiday and keep schools closed today as well. On Monday, August 22, schools and coaching institutes in Kota and Bundi districts were closed. The IMD has also issued Heavy Rainfall alert in isolated areas in Rajasthan’s eastern and western regions.

Heavy Rainfall alert Following the deaths of two persons as a result of the flood-like condition, the district administrations of Kota and Bundi announced today a vacation for all government and private schools, as well as coaching centres, in the district.  As a result of the downpour and discharge of water from the Kota barrage, around 3,500 people were relocated from low-lying areas to safer sites and temporary shelters in Kota.
