Government announced DA increase: How much salary will take govt employee

Dearness Allowance (DA) increase: 1700 Aavin employees of the Tamil Nadu state have been increased by 4%. After this, the current DSH has increased from 34% to 38%. Aavin is the largest co-operative marketing union in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is owned by the government.
The government’s decision to increase DA will benefit more Aavin employees. Earlier, employees working in Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Union and six district unions were getting DA at the rate of 38%. Apart from this, 34% allowance was given to the employees working in other districts.
After continuous demand by employees, the government has announced a uniform DA rate for all Avin employees. After this phase, the annual expenditure of the government is expected to increase by Rs 3.18 crore. The central government will soon announce the hike in DA.

When will the central employee’s DA increase? :
At present, Central Government employees are given 42 percent Dearness Allowance (DA) / Dearness Relief (DR). The central government is expected to announce the hike on Vijaya Dashami, which marks the end of Navratri, or during Diwali.
When will the balance be paid?
The increase in dearness allowance to Central Government employees will be paid along with October salary (if announced on Vijaya Dashami) or November salary (if announced during Diwali). The arrears amount (DA arrears) will be based on the declared percentage increase.

The calculation of unemployment allowance is done on the basis of Consumer Price Index (CPI-IW Index) numbers for industrial workers for the respective month. A 4 percent DA hike is expected based on the index seen in the last few months.
Based on the calculations of the 7th Pay Commission, there may be an increase of 4 percent in the rate of dearness allowance with effect from July 1, 2023. Even if the CPI-IW index numbers remain unchanged in the upcoming revisions, the inflation figures will rise to 46 per cent above inflation as the inflation figures remain above 6 per cent, experts said.
