Central government special scheme: get Rs 20 lakh benefit if you invest Rs 20
For death or disability due to accident, Rs 2 lakh per annum for accidental death disability (Rs 1 lakh in case of partial disability) is available at a premium of Rs 20 per annum under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.
There are two such schemes of central government in which you can take insurance cover by making a small investment. One such scheme is Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). Launched during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first tenure, the scheme provides protection up to Rs 2 lakh.
Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY):
One year accident insurance scheme is the first term of Modi government. Under this, death or disability caused by accident is covered. It is updated every year. Individuals between 18-70 years of age having a personal bank or post office account are eligible to register under this scheme.
How much is the plan premium: For death or disability due to accident, Rs 2 lakh per annum for accidental death disability (Rs 1 lakh in case of partial disability) is available at a premium of Rs 20 per annum. Registration under this scheme can be done by visiting the account holder’s bank branch / BC point or bank’s website or post office in case of savings bank account.

Under this scheme, an auto debit is made every year from the customer’s bank account based on a one-time order of the premium account holder. Explain that earlier the premium for this scheme was Rs 12 per annum. However, the government increased this premium to Rs 20 last year.
