7th Pay Commission: government employees salary hike from this month

7th Pay Commission Latest Update: Narendra Modi government will soon give good news to central employees and pensioners. The government is likely to announce an increase in gratuity soon. This time the increase in dearness allowance (DA) will be effective from July 1, 2023.
This time it is expected that the government may announce the increase in DA before Navratri. Government employees may get a salary hike from November. At present, the government is paying 42 per cent gratuity to the central employees. This time it may increase from 42 to 45 percent. An increase of 3% is expected in the gratuity allowance this time.
As per the Seventh Pay Commission rules, when the gratuity reaches 50 percent, it will be merged into the basic pay. If the Dearness Allowance is increased by 3 per cent this time, the allowance applicable from July 2024 is expected to cross 50 per cent. Let’s see how much the salary will be increased at the rate of 3% this time.
Complete calculation of Dearness Allowance (DA) increase:
1. The salary of an employee is Rs.50,000 per month. So, if the basic salary is Rs 25,000.
2. Such employee is currently getting DA of Rs.10,500 per month.
3. After 3 percent increase in dearness allowance, an employee’s DA will increase to Rs 11,250.
4. In this way the salary will increase by Rs 750 per month (Rs 9000 annually).
5.) In such a situation, if the employee’s salary is 50000 per month, he will get a benefit of 9000 rupees annually. This will also benefit the pensioners.

According to data released in July 2023, All India CPI rose by 3.3 points to 139.7 points. As far as the DA hike is concerned, the union is demanding a 4 percent increase in Dearness allowance, All India Railwaymen’s Federation general secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra said. But this time the government is expected to increase the poverty allowance by 3% only. In 2006, the central government had changed the formula for calculating DA and DR for central employees and pensioners.
