Speaking to the media on Saturday, he said, ‘Shettar and I were friends before entering politics. We are not working to avoid tickets. “We are in constant contact with the party leaders to give them tickets,” he said.
‘Jagdeesh Shettar is a loyal leader of BJP, whose family belongs to Jan Sangh period. We told the seniors that they are needed for North Karnataka and should be kept active in politics. I have also discussed with JP Nadda’, he said.
Responding to Nehru’s allegation that ‘Bommai has committed thousands of crores of corruption in the irrigation scheme’, he said, ‘If there are any documents to allege corruption, let them be disclosed. Nehru Olekar was convicted in the irrigation scam. Remember that’ he replied.
“BJP has no confusion regarding ticket distribution. There is competition among the aspirants and everything will be known in two-three days. Election is a challenge. We will face it effectively. When I first contested the elections, they predicted that I would lose. “I have won all of them as lies,” he said.
