Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai has said that the first list of BJP candidates for the assembly elections to be held on May 10 will be released on Tuesday or Wednesday. It is said that the BJP list will be finalized only after Amit Shah returns to Delhi from Arunachal Pradesh. Amit Shah will return from Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi at 4 pm. The release of the list will be final after a meeting with Amit Shah. It is said that the list of BJP candidates is likely to be released today or tomorrow.

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, CM Bommai said there is no confusion about finalizing the list. Probably the first list will be released tomorrow or the next day. It was likely to be released on Monday evening. But as more discussions have to be done, it may be released on Tuesday or Wednesday, he said.

Another round of meetings will be held under the leadership of visiting Home Minister Amit Shah after he returns to Delhi on Tuesday. If everything goes smoothly in that meeting and a consensus is reached, the list can be released at night. Otherwise it will be postponed to Wednesday.
