Sadguru Sannidhi hosts sacred Saptarishi Avahanam ritual inspired by Kashi tradition

Chikkaballapur: In a spiritually significant event, the ancient and powerful ritual of Saptarishi Avahanam, traditionally performed at the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple, was conducted at the Sadguru Sannidhi near Bengaluru, bringing a slice of Kashi’s sacred tradition to Karnataka.
The ritual, deeply rooted in Vedic practices, involves invoking the energies of the seven revered sages (Saptarishis) and is considered highly auspicious among devotees of Lord Shiva. This elaborate spiritual process has been carefully preserved in its authentic form by the priests of Kashi Vishwanath Temple over generations.
In recent years, the ritual has also been performed outside Varanasi under special circumstances. Notably, it was conducted at the iconic Adiyogi Shiva Statue in Coimbatore, where the Yogeshwar Linga stands as a powerful spiritual energy form. During the winter solstice, a group of seven priests from Kashi performed the Saptarishi Avahanam there as an offering of devotion.
Continuing this tradition, priests once again carried forward the sacred practice by performing the ritual at the Yogeshwar Linga located within Sadguru Sannidhi near Bengaluru, around the time of the spring equinox. The ceremony drew spiritual seekers and devotees who gathered to witness and participate in the rare Vedic process.
The Yogeshwar Linga, where the ritual was held, is believed to embody the manifestation of five major chakras in the human system, symbolizing a deeper connection between the physical and spiritual realms. The Saptarishi Avahanam performed here is said to enhance the spiritual energy of the space and offer an opportunity for devotees to experience heightened states of awareness and devotion.
Spiritual practitioners emphasize that such rituals are not merely symbolic but are designed to create a conducive environment for inner transformation. The presence of trained priests from Kashi ensures that the sanctity and precision of the ritual are maintained.
The has added to the growing prominence of Sadguru Sannidhi as a spiritual hub, attracting devotees from across the region. Many participants described the experience as deeply moving and spiritually uplifting.
With the continuation of such ancient traditions beyond their original locations, devotees now have increased access to rare and powerful spiritual practices, reinforcing India’s rich cultural and religious heritage.
