Karwar: A Kazakhstani woman was rescued from drowning at Kudle Beach in Kumta taluk after she was swept away by strong waves on Monday. The woman, identified as Aydali (25), had gone for a swim with her husband when she suddenly got trapped in the high tide.
According to officials, Aydali struggled to stay afloat as the waves dragged her deeper into the sea. Alert lifeguards stationed at the beach noticed the distress and immediately rushed into action. Manjunath Harikantra, Girish Gowda and Nagendra, who were on duty as part of the coastal rescue team, managed to reach her in time and bring her safely ashore.
After being rescued, she was assessed for any health complications and found to be out of danger. The quick response of the rescue team averted a major tragedy at the popular tourist destination. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Gokarna Police Station.
Kudle Beach, known for its strong undercurrents during certain hours of the day, has witnessed several similar incidents in recent months. Authorities have repeatedly urged both domestic and foreign tourists to exercise caution while entering the sea.
