Karnataka Weather: A cyclonic circulation over Madhya Pradesh has triggered significant changes in Karnataka’s weather, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting widespread rainfall across the state over the next 10 days.
The department has warned that rainfall activity will intensify, particularly in the coastal and Malnad regions. The IMD has predicted that today and tomorrow, rainfall will be particularly intense in the coastal districts.
Kasaragod, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada are expected to witness cloudy skies throughout the day, accompanied by light to heavy showers at regular intervals. Rainfall is likely to become even more intense in these regions tomorrow.
Malnad Region to Witness Widespread Showers:
The Malnad districts of Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, and Sakleshpur in Hassan district are also expected to receive heavy rainfall on August 11, especially in the Ghat sections and adjoining hilly areas, where widespread showers are forecast.
Weather in Interior Karnataka:
In North Interior Karnataka, parts of Gadag, Haveri, and Ballari districts are likely to receive moderate rainfall, while most other areas are expected to experience a mix of sunshine and cloudy conditions.
Thunderstorms Expected in South Interior Karnataka:
In South Interior Karnataka, including Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Mysuru, Mandya, Ramanagara, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Tumakuru, Davanagere, and Vijayanagara, thunderstorms accompanied by rain are likely during the evening hours.
Travellers Advised to Remain Cautious:
Although no Red Alert has been issued after August 11, the IMD has advised people planning to travel to hill stations, Malnad regions, and other tourist destinations over the weekend to stay updated on weather forecasts and exercise caution, as intermittent heavy rainfall could affect travel conditions.
