The company has a composite license from the Department of Mines and Geology to prospect for gold in over 10,000 acres, which includes both forest and agricultural land. The company plans to drill boreholes to assess the gold deposits in the area, with previous studies suggesting a “significant value” of 19 to 80 grams per tonne.

The company plans to drill approximately 100 boreholes to confirm these estimates and determine the viability of mining operations. However, this has raised concerns from environmentalists and wildlife officials, as the proposed exploration area includes a critical wildlife habitat, a buffer zone to the Western Ghats, and known elephant corridors.
The Karnataka Forest Department is currently considering the company’s application for permission to conduct the exploration activities. The process requires a series of clearances, and the environmental impact of the drilling and related operations is a major point of discussion.
