Bengaluru Air Quality Remains Moderate as Karnataka Cities See Cleaner Air
Monsoon rainfall and steady winds have helped keep air pollution under control across Karnataka, with Bengaluru remaining moderate while several cities record good air quality.

Bengaluru air quality remains in the moderate category.
Mangaluru air quality is around the moderate range.
Mysuru and Hassan are reporting better air quality.
Bengaluru Air Quality Improves as Monsoon Keeps Pollution Under Control
Air quality across Karnataka is currently ranging from good to moderate, with monsoon rainfall and improved air circulation helping reduce pollution levels in several major cities.
Bengaluru is recording an average Air Quality Index between 60 and 70, placing the city in the moderate category. While pollution remains manageable overall, some busy traffic corridors continue to record comparatively higher readings.
Traffic zones see higher readings
Areas such as Silk Board, Whitefield and BTM Layout are reporting AQI levels of around 65 to 75. These areas experience heavy vehicle movement, which can contribute to higher concentrations of particulate matter.
In contrast, locations around Lalbagh and Cubbon Park are recording AQI levels below 50, indicating good air quality.
PM2.5 and PM10 levels have also remained relatively controlled across the city, although conditions can vary depending on traffic and local weather.
Mangaluru remains moderate
Mangaluru and other coastal areas are seeing moderate air quality, with Mangaluru recording an AQI of around 80. The influence of sea winds and regular rainfall is helping limit the buildup of pollutants.
Mysuru and Hassan are among the cities reporting better conditions. Mysuru is recording AQI levels between 45 and 55, keeping it close to the good category.
Northern Karnataka cities also remain relatively clear
Hubballi Dharwad and Belagavi are recording AQI levels between 55 and 65. The readings indicate moderate air quality, with pollution levels remaining relatively contained.
Under the commonly used AQI classification, readings from 0 to 50 are considered good, while 51 to 100 fall under the moderate category.
Weather continues to play an important role in maintaining these conditions. With rainfall and better wind movement during the monsoon, pollutants are less likely to remain concentrated near the ground.
People with respiratory sensitivities may still want to limit prolonged outdoor activity near busy roads, particularly during periods of heavy traffic.
