Karnataka Forest Department Invites Applications for 750 Forest Watcher Posts

The Karnataka Forest Department has announced recruitment for 750 Forest Watcher vacancies with selection based on SSLC merit, followed by physical and medical tests without any written examination.

The Karnataka Forest Department has released a recruitment notification for 750 Forest Watcher posts for 2026, offering a major opportunity for candidates seeking government employment. The recruitment process does not include a written examination, with candidates being shortlisted primarily based on their SSLC marks.

According to the notification, applications will be accepted online from August 1 to August 31. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the department’s official website.

To apply, candidates must have passed the SSLC examination conducted by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board or an equivalent Class 10 examination from CBSE, ICSE or NIOS. Candidates who are awaiting their examination results on the last date of application are not eligible to apply.

The recruitment process will begin with a merit list prepared using SSLC marks. Candidates will then be shortlisted in a 1 to 20 ratio for the Physical Standard Test. Those who qualify will undergo the Physical Endurance Test and a medical examination before the final merit list is prepared. Document verification will be conducted before appointment orders are issued.

Applicants must also satisfy the prescribed physical standards. Male candidates should have a minimum height of 163 centimetres along with the required chest measurements, while separate relaxation is available for eligible tribal candidates. Female applicants must meet the prescribed height and weight requirements, with separate standards for tribal candidates.

The medical examination will assess eyesight, hearing ability and overall physical fitness. Candidates with specified physical disabilities or medical conditions that do not meet the recruitment standards may be declared ineligible.

The 750 vacancies include 700 posts in the Non Hyderabad Karnataka region and 50 posts in the Hyderabad Karnataka region. Vacancies have been distributed across several forest circles, including Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Uttara Kannada, Hassan, Ballari, Dharwad and Kalaburagi.
