A sum of Rs 75,000 has allegedly been recovered from the actress. Bengali-TV actress Rupa Dutta has reportedly been arrested on grounds of pickpocketing at the International Kolkata Book Fair 2022. The incident took place on Saturday night, March 12.
As per sources at Kolkata’s Bidhannagar North police station, cops on duty at the book fair got suspicious after seeing a woman throw a bag in the dustbin. The police interrogated the woman and upon searching her bag, many money bags were recovered.
According to sources, a sum of Rs 75,000 has been recovered from Rupa. Other reports suggest that Rupa will be taken to court in the matter. According to the police, Rupa Dutta is the same actress who had wrongly accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment a few years ago.

In 2020, Rupa Dutta wrongly accused director-producer Anurag Kashyap for sending inappropriate messages on Facebook. It turned out that Rupa was conversing with another man with the same first name as Anurag. In a tweet, Rupa had shared screenshots of her chat. Rupa’s Twitter bio says she has been a part of TV shows such as Jai Maa Vaishnodevi.
