Legendary actress Pushpalatha passed away
Legendary actress Pushpalatha, who acted in films with leading actors including MGR, Shivaji and Kamal Hasan, passed away on Tuesday (Feb. 4) in Chennai. She is 87 years old. Actress Pushpalatha gained attention by acting in many language films like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada.
She made her debut as an actress in 1958 Tamil film ‘Sengottai Singam’. She made her debut in the movie Konga Nattu Thangam (1962). Following that, She has acted as lead actress and supporting actress in more than one hundred films.
Such as Sarada, Paar Magaley Paar, Naanum Oru Penn, Yarukku Sontham, Thaaye Unakkaga, Karpooram, Jeevanaamsam, Dharisanam, Kalyanaraman, Sakalakalla Vallavan, Simla Special, Puthu Vellam and Ammavum Neeye Appavum Neeye. She has also acted in several Telugu and Malayalam films. Pushpalatha has produced two films. Both of them failed at the box office
She has acted in more than 100 films with actors including MGR and Shivaji. Pushpalatha has also acted in lead roles with Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan’s ‘Kalyanaraman’ and ‘Sakalakala Vallavan’. Pushpalatha and Rajan’s romance blossomed when she acted with AVM Rajan in the film ‘Nanum Oru Pend’. Later both got married, they have two daughters.
Pushpalatha was last seen in the 1999 Murali-starrer ‘ Poo Vaasam ‘. However, she passed away on Tuesday due to old age at 87 years old. Many people in the film world are mourning her death.
