Bollywood drug probe: NCB arrests producer Kshitij Ravi Prasad

Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau, on Saturday, arrested Kshitij Ravi Prasad. Kshitij was questioned for two days and formally placed under the arrest in the afternoon.

The NCB officials are tight-lipped about why Kshitij was apprehended but said that he had links with drug peddlers arrested. Yesterday as soon as he landed in Mumbai from Delhi, a team of NCB officials took him to his residence in Versova. After carrying out searches, he was brought to NCB zonal office in Ballard Estate.

Kshitij Ravi Prasad was asked about his association with Ankush Anreja who runs a high profile kitchen in south Mumbai. He has been arrested on charges of peddling in drugs. Sources say Ankush was selling hash and MDMA to high profile individuals. “These high profile individuals were not directly buying drugs. But through Kshitij drug was being purchased. We had disclosure statements of peddlers and electronic evidence,” said a senior NCB official on condition of anonymity.

During questioning, he denied facilitating any drug deals for any celebrities. The NCB probe shows Arneja was buying banned substances from Sanket who is connected with a network consisting of Anuj Keshwani and Karamjeet Singh. NCB has already arrested Keshwani, Karamjeet and Sanket.The federal probe agency is investigating the links between celebrities, peddlers and kingpin of cartels who ran their operations in Mumbai.

Kshitij is CEO and founder of a production company Spark Kreation which according to IMDB released a film Jamun in 2018.On Friday night, Karan Johar broke his silence and said that the no narcotics was consumed at a party hosted by him last July. He also denied that he personally knew Kshitij Prasad and Anubhav Chopra.
