Udupi District Superintendent of Police Dr. K. Arun said that the accused Praveen Arun Chowgale (39), who was arrested in the Kudachi police station of Rayabhaga taluk of Belagavi district on Tuesday in connection with the case of massacre of mother and children in Nejar, has confessed to the murder and has been arrested.

Accused Praveen, who was working as a cabin crew member in Air India Mangalore Airport, committed this murder out of hatred for Ainaz. He said that he also stabbed the mother and two children to death who came to stop him.

During the interrogation, the accused told three motives for the murder, which will be confirmed after verification. The accused, who is married, hails from Sangli, Maharashtra and has been living in Mangalore for many years, the SP said.

Incident Details:

On November 12, a brutal incident took place in Tripti Nagar near Nejaru in Udupi taluk where four members of the same family were stabbed to death. Yes, an assailant barged into the house, brutally murdered a woman Hasina and her 11-year-old son Afnan, two daughters Aynaz and Hasim.

The police investigated the case and formed 5 teams after finding the accused. Accordingly, the killer has now been caught in Kudachi and the police have taken him to Udupi.
