Three officials died after their car fell into a ditch in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the accident. He directed the district administration to provide all possible assistance to the injured. Three officials died after their car fell into a ditch in Jammu and Kashmir. Three officers were killed when the car they were traveling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep ditch in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Monday. Police said that one officer was seriously injured in this accident .

Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the accident. He directed the district administration to provide all possible assistance to the injured. The accident occurred near Assar on the Batote-Kishtwar National Highway around 10.45 am when the vehicle was carrying a team of road and building department officials, said Bhwinder Kotwal, local station house officer.

The vehicle carrying the officers fell into a 200-metre deep ravine, killing Poonch’s Executive Engineer Rafeeq Shah, Udhampur’s Assistant Executive Engineering Kamal Kishore Sharma and Doda’s driver Mohammad Hafeez. Superintending Engineer Suresh Kumar was seriously injured in this accident and was sent to the hospital. The accident took place due to foggy weather and heavy rain making the road invisible. The injured officer has been referred to Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu for specialized treatment.

Three officials died and another was critically injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Monday, police said. The vehicle was carrying a team of the Roads and Building department when it met with the accident near Assar on the Batote-Kishtwar national highway at around 10.45am, local Station House Officer Bhuvinder Kotwal said.

He said the vehicle rolled down 200 metres into the gorge, resulting in the death of executive engineer Rafiq Shah of Poonch, assistant executive engineer Kamal Kishore Sharma of Udhampur and driver Mohammed Hafeez of Doda. Superintending engineer Suresh Kumar was critically injured and shifted to hospital, the SHO said.
