Karnataka Heavy Rainfall alert: Bengaluru is expected to have a cloudy atmosphere throughout the period with drizzles along with misty mornings. Karnataka Heavy Rainfall alert in 20 district till November 17. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall till November 17 in more than 20 districts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru city.

The predicted minimum temperature is 10 degree Celsius and maximum temperature is 26 degrees. The heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu is also going to have bearing on Bengaluru, which is located close to its borders. According to IMD, Bengaluru city, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapur, coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada (DK), Uttara Kannada, Udupi.

And also northern regions of Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Koppal, Raichur, Malnad (hilly) regions of Hassan, Chikkamagalur, Shivamogga, southern districts of Kodagu, Mysuru, Mandya, Kolar, Ramnagar and Tumakuru are going to receive incessant rainfall. Preventive measures are being put in place to tackle the situation and to prevent any loss of life.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the four districts of Tiruvallur, Ranipet and Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu on Friday and forecast very heavy rainfall in Chennai and several other districts in the coming days. The Tamil Nadu government has also declared a holiday for educational institutions in several districts on Friday on account of the rain.

According to the Regional Meteorlogical Centre, Chennai, the well-marked low pressure area over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of northeast Sri Lanka is very likely to move northwestwards towards Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts till Saturday morning.

It is likely to move across Tamil Nadu and Kerala on Saturday and Sunday, an officer said. The India Meteorological Department (IMD), also predicted ‘enhanced rainfall’ activity over south peninsular India during 11-13 November.
