More than Rs.2 crore cash found in car, 8 arrested

Noida: The police said that investigation and necessary action is being taken regarding the cash seized by the police and the absconding persons. The cash is suspected to be related to the hawala network and the seized cash is still being counted, police said. The arrested have been identified as Jayanti Bhai of Ahmedabad, Sandeep Sharma of Delhi, Vinay Kumar of Delhi, Abhijeet Hazra of North West Bengal, Rohit Jain of Noida Sector-56, Vipul of Delhi, Minesh Shah of Mumbai and Anuj of Indore.

“It is expected that Rs.2 crore was taken for the hawala network and the interrogation of all the arrested is going on,” said the police. The police got information about hawala racket taking place in Sector 55. “Police station Sector 58 got information that some hawala racketeers were coming to Sector-55 with a lot of cash to deal.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team of Sector 55, Noida arrested eight people. said the police. After the enquiry, the seized cash will be counted by the Income Tax Department. The police said that investigation and necessary action is being taken regarding the cash seized by the police and the absconding persons. Further investigation is underway.
