A minor rape survivor who was pregnant delivered a premature baby inside the washroom of a private hospital in Kerala’s Kochi, police said, adding that she, however, flushed down the newborn.
As per reports, the minor girl was allegedly raped by a 20-year-old youth. The sexual assault resulted in pregnancy. On Wednesday, she went to a private medical facility in Kochi for a check-up with her mother. While waiting for a medic at the hospital, the minor experienced pain.
She went to the washroom, where she delivered a premature baby. She flushed down the newborn and returned to the scanning room. She did not reveal she had given birth to a baby. The matter came to fore after another patient went to the toilet and spotted remains of the prematurely born foetus.

The police, after receiving information, came rushing to the hospital. The minor, during interrogation, confessed to having flushed down the prematurely born baby, according to a media report. The girl stated that she got pregnant after being raped by a 20-year-old youth. On the basis of a complaint lodged by her mother, police have registered a case against the Wayanad-based accused.
