Minivan overturns in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur; 4 died, 1 critical

Four people died and 15 others were injured in a road accident that took place in AP’s Guntur district on Monday morning. One of the injured persons is in critical condition. A road accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district that took place during the wee hours of Monday, December 5, resulted in the death of four passengers and injuries to sixteen others. A minivan overturned reportedly due to the intense fog near Baptala city, resulting in the accident.

The road accident occurred at Jampani village near Baptala city in Vemuru Mandal of Andhra Pradesh. A Tata Ace minivan overturned early on Monday morning, killing three people on the spot and leaving over 16 others injured.The 16 people who were injured were shifted to the Tenali government hospital and one among them succumbed to injuries.

 Out of the other 15, one is in critical condition. There were a total of 23 people travelling in the Tata Ace minivan. They were Ayyappa devotees who got off the train at Tenali station and left in the minivan which overturned due to the fog in the area.

According to the preliminary reports, three died at the scene of the accident and one died at the Tenali Government Hospital. Police officials are conducting further investigations.
