Dharmasthala Case: SIT notice to Dhiraj Kella, Mallik Jain and Uday Jain
Dharmasthala Case: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the alleged mass burials and other crimes in Dharmasthala has issued notice for investigation to Dhiraj Kella, Mallik Jain, and Uday Jain.
The names Dhiraj Kella, Mallik Jain, and Uday Jain have been associated with the rape and murder of Soujanya case the 2012. They were among the individuals whose involvement was alleged by Sowjanya’s family and activists.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and later the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigated the case, and according to media reports, these individuals were questioned, but no charges were brought against them.
Current SIT Investigation:
The current SIT investigation was formed in July 2025 to probe new allegations of mass burials and murders in the Dharmasthala area, based on the claims of a whistleblower. This investigation is separate from the original Sowjanya case.
The focus of the current SIT’s probe has been on the claims and evidence presented by the main complainant, who was recently arrested on charges of perjury. The SIT has been conducting excavations, analyzing skeletal remains, and investigating the source of the evidence provided by the complainant.
There are no public reports of the SIT summoning or investigating Dhiraj Kella, Mallik Jain, and Uday Jain in relation to the current mass burial allegations.
