The accident took place near the Khapoli area. Four people died on the spot while one person died on the way to the hospital. Meanwhile, others were rushed to the MGM Hospital in Kamothe, Navi Mumbai.

“The car was going from Pune to Mumbai when it hit the truck from the rear around 12 am. There were nine occupants in the car. While four persons died on the spot, another one succumbed to injuries while being taken to a hospital,” an official of Khopoli police station said.

All the deceased were men, while one of the four injured is a woman, he said.  The four persons have been admitted to the MGM Hospital in Kamothe, Panvel and are undergoing treatment.

CCTV footage from inside the lift shows the dog attacking the child as soon as it entered with its owner. The incident took place in Greater Noida’s La residential complex. This follows a series of other incidents in Noida where dog bites have become a frequent occurrence. The boy’s mother said the incident has scarred him and he is now talking about “killing and chasing them away”.

She added that she was well-acquainted with the dog’s owner. The boy’s father said the dog went out of control and attacked the child as he entered the lift with his mother. He added that the dog persisted in its attack even after the boy tried to hide behind his mother. An apartment owners’ association (AOA) member commented on the incident and said it was “very scary”. He said that some rules were made to control dogs in the apartment complex but “no dog lover follows them”.
