Bajrang Dal, BJP members attacked by Congress workers in Bantwal

As the BJP won the election, there was a scuffle between Congress and BJP workers during the celebration. Today some miscreants allegedly attacked BJP and Bajrang Dal workers with sticks at Mani Junction in the Bantwal taluk Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, May 24. According to earlier reports, a fight broke out between BJP and Congress party workers during the victory celebration of the Bantwal MLA. In retaliation, Congress workers attacked BJP and Bajrang Dal workers today.

However, later the police sources stated that it was a fight over a trivial issue and was not a rival party fight. The injured individuals have been identified as Mahendra, the convener of Bajrang Dal in Peraje, and Prashanth Naik, a BJP worker.

Both were admitted to a private hospital in Puttur. The incident occurred when they were traveling on a bike at Mani Junction. The accused arrived in an Omni car and allegedly attacked them with sticks.

The attackers have been identified as Rakesh, Mani Manjunath (also known as Manju), and Praveen Naik (also known as Malinga), according to reports. They reportedly targeted BJP and Bajrang Dal workers.

The victims were attacked with sticks. “In social media it is reported that the victim’s were attacked with swords but they were thrashed with sticks. Investigation is underway,” Amathe Vikram, Superintendent of Police Dakshina Kannada said. Mahendra and Prashath are being treated at a private hospital in Puttur, Dakshina Kannada district.
