13-Year-Old girl vomits blood after consuming cold drink, dies as her body turns blue

Chennai: A13-year-old girl in Chennai allegedly died soon after drinking cold drinks from a local grocery shop. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in the Besant Nagar area of Chennai. The girl, Tharani, had gone to a local grocery shop to buy cold drinks. Soon after drinking it, she reportedly started vomiting blood.

Seeing this, her elder sister alerted their parents and the family rushed her to a hospital. By the time they reached the hospital, Tharani had become unconscious and her body reportedly started turning blue. She was declared brought dead at the hospital.

Police said they have sent the child’s body for post-mortem. Meanwhile, residents of Besant Nagar have demanded a probe into the quality of products sold in their neighbourhood. They have also demanded an inspection by officials from the food safety department.
