A 12-year-old girl raped by two minor boys at her village school gave birth to a baby boy at a Jodhpur hospital, an official said on Monday. The girl gave birth to a baby boy on Sunday night.
After being admitted to the hospital by her parents, said Dhanpat Gurjar, president of Rajasthan’s Child Welfare Committee, adding that both the girl and her baby are fine. He said the girl’s parents had earlier taken her to a hospital near their village in Balesar subdivision after their daughter complained of severe abdominal pain.
After getting information that she was pregnant in the hospital, the girl’s parents wanted the doctors to abort the fetus there, but the local hospital found the matter too complicated and referred the matter to Jodhpur hospital and also informed the police.
The Child Welfare Committee chief said that at the Jodhpur hospital, the girl told the police and doctors that she was raped by two boys at her school. Though the police remained silent on the matter, sources in the department said that two boys with the girl’s name are being questioned.
After coming to know about the matter, the Child Welfare Committee members met the girl and her parents on Monday and assured all possible help in the matter.
