Bengaluru: Student Dies After Falling From Jackfruit Tree
A postgraduate agriculture student died after falling from a tree while attempting to pluck a jackfruit inside Bengaluru's GKVK campus, leaving family and friends devastated.

Bengaluru: A tragic accident at the GKVK campus in Yelahanka claimed the life of a young agriculture student, shocking the academic community and his fellow students.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old Akash from Kudligi in Vijayanagara district, was pursuing his MSc in Agriculture through a government quota seat. According to reports, he climbed a tree late at night to pluck a jackfruit when he accidentally slipped and fell.
Friends immediately shifted him to a nearby hospital after the incident. Despite medical efforts, doctors were unable to save him, and he passed away while undergoing treatment.
Akash was widely respected for his achievements beyond academics. He had received the President’s Best NSS Volunteer Award and represented Karnataka in the Republic Day Parade held in New Delhi in 2024.
Police from Yelahanka station visited the spot and initiated an inquiry. The unfortunate incident has left students, teachers, and family members mourning the loss of a bright young talent.
