2026 Kia Sonet Automatic Variant Launched with Price Under 10 Lakh

Kia India has expanded the lineup of the 2026 Kia Sonet by introducing more automatic transmission options across the range. With this update, the compact SUV now offers diesel automatic and turbo petrol dual clutch automatic variants, making it easier for buyers to choose an automatic car at an affordable price.

One of the biggest highlights of the updated model is the diesel automatic option paired with a 1.5 litre engine and a six speed torque converter automatic transmission. This variant starts at an ex showroom price of 9.77 lakh, making it one of the most accessible diesel automatic SUVs in the segment.

Alongside this, the turbo petrol variant of the 2026 Kia Sonet is also available with a seven speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The price for this configuration begins at 9.89 lakh ex showroom, offering another automatic choice for customers looking for a petrol powered SUV with smoother driving experience.

Kia has also widened the availability of diesel automatic trims. Buyers can now choose this option in variants such as HTE O, HTK O, HTK and HTK Plus O. Meanwhile, the turbo petrol dual clutch automatic is now offered in HTK O and HTK Plus O variants, giving customers more flexibility depending on their budget and feature preference.

The company said the decision to expand automatic transmission choices comes as driving conditions in cities continue to change. Many drivers now prefer vehicles that reduce the effort of constant gear shifting, especially during heavy traffic and daily commuting.

Diesel automatic combinations are becoming increasingly popular among buyers who want strong low end torque along with better highway mileage without the effort of manual gear changes. This trend has encouraged manufacturers to offer more automatic options even in compact SUVs.

Since its launch in India in 2020, the Kia Sonet has become one of the brand’s most successful models in the country. Recently, the compact SUV crossed the milestone of five lakh units in total sales, further strengthening its position in the competitive Indian SUV market.
