Cyclone Montha: Heavy rainfall alert in Karnataka for next 48 hours

Cyclone Montha will make landfall in the coastal part of Andhra Pradesh today, Tuesday, the Meteorological Department has said. The IMD has predicted that Karnataka along with various states will receive heavy to very heavy rain. Cyclone Montha: Heavy rainfall alert in Karnataka for next 48 hours.

Moderate to heavy rain continues to fall in coastal, Malnad and other interior districts in the state of Karnataka. Rainfall will be witnessed in various districts for the next 48 hours as a result of Cyclone Montha. Karnataka Meteorological experts have said that heavy rain will continue in the following districts of the coastal and interior.

Heavy rains are expected in these districts:

An orange alert has been issued today and a yellow alert tomorrow, Wednesday for the coastal districts like Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada. A high alert has been issued in the coastal parts of Mangaluru and Udupi.

Similarly, moderate to heavy rains are expected in the interior districts of Bagalkot, Belgaum, Gadag, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, Yadgiri, Chikkaballapur, Kodagu, Kolar, and Mysore. Heavy rains of at least 65 mm to 115 mm are expected here, and a yellow alert has been issued for one day.

Bengaluru will see normal weather today and tomorrow. There will be frequent fog and light rains are expected. The maximum temperature is expected to be 30 degrees Celsius and the minimum is 21 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of heavy rain at a couple of places this evening or Wednesday morning, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Centre (KSNDMC) said.
