Lava Virat Curve 5G Launches in India With Dual Displays

Lava has introduced the Virat Curve 5G in India, bringing a combination of a curved AMOLED display and a small secondary screen on the rear. The phone is aimed at users looking for a distinctive design along with a large battery and 5G performance.

The smartphone has been priced at Rs 23,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. With the launch offer, selected bank card transactions can bring the effective price down to Rs 19,999. Sales are scheduled to begin on September 28 through Flipkart and Lava’s official website.

The phone is available in three colour options called Heritage Indigo, Makrana Ivory and Ellora Slate. Lava has used a vegan leather finish on the rear, giving the handset a different look from conventional glass backed smartphones in the segment.

The main attraction is the display setup. The Virat Curve 5G features a 6.67 inch 3D curved AMOLED screen with Full HD Plus resolution of 2400 by 1080 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of up to 1100 nits.

Lava has also added a small display to the rear camera section. This secondary screen can show information such as the battery level, volume, time, notifications, emojis and custom text. The feature could be useful for checking basic information without repeatedly waking the larger display.

Under the hood, the smartphone uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, which is manufactured using a 6nm process. Lava says the device has achieved an AnTuTu score of around 8 lakh. The phone comes with 6GB of physical RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while another 6GB can be used as virtual RAM.

The Virat Curve 5G runs Android 16 out of the box. Lava has promised two Android version upgrades along with three years of security updates. This gives buyers a defined software support period beyond the initial purchase.

Photography is handled by a 50MP primary rear camera. Lava has used a Sony IMX752 sensor for the main camera and included electronic image stabilisation. A second rear camera is also provided.

The rear camera system supports video recording at up to 2K resolution and 30 frames per second. For selfies and video calls, the phone has a 13MP front camera.

Battery capacity is another major feature of the handset. The Virat Curve 5G carries a 6000mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging. However, the charger included in the box is rated at 33W.

Lava claims that the battery can be fully charged in around 92 minutes and can provide up to 55 hours of talk time. Actual battery life can vary depending on network conditions, display settings and the way the phone is used.

The handset also comes with an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes. It has additionally received MIL STD 810H certification, which is intended to indicate durability under specified testing conditions.

The phone measures 162.26 by 73.51 by 8.55 millimetres and weighs 184 grams. USB Type C is provided for charging and connectivity.

With its rear mini display, curved AMOLED panel, large battery and 50MP camera, the Lava Virat Curve 5G brings several unusual features to its price segment. The combination of a secondary screen and a vegan leather finish also gives the device a distinctive identity.

The Rs 19,999 effective launch price will be available through selected bank offers, while the regular listed price remains Rs 23,999. Buyers will be able to purchase the phone from September 28 through Flipkart and Lava’s official online store.
