Heavy Rainfall to Continue Across Karnataka for Next One Week

The southwest monsoon has regained strength across Karnataka, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting widespread rainfall across several parts of the state over the next seven days.
The heaviest showers are expected in the coastal and Malnad regions, where heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely. Authorities have urged residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
According to the weather forecast, the rain will be accompanied by strong winds, thunderstorms, and lightning in many districts. People have been advised not to take shelter under trees, near old or damaged buildings, or close to electric poles during thunderstorms, as these areas pose a significant safety risk.
Bengaluru is also expected to experience cool, cloudy weather throughout the week. The city is likely to record a maximum temperature of around 27°C and a minimum of 21°C.
Across the state, Mangaluru is expected to see a maximum temperature of 28°C, while Shivamogga and Belagavi are likely to record 26°C. In north Karnataka, Kalaburagi and Raichur may witness temperatures rising to 32°C. Meanwhile, the hill station of Madikeri will remain the coolest, with a maximum temperature of around 22°C.
With heavy rainfall expected to persist over the next week, residents and travellers are advised to stay updated with weather advisories, avoid unnecessary travel to flood-prone areas, and follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities.
