Lalbagh Flower Show Opens in Bengaluru Featuring Bahubali and Talakadu Floral Masterpieces

Bengaluru’s iconic Lalbagh Botanical Garden has once again transformed into a paradise for flower lovers as the much awaited 220th Lalbagh Flower Show officially opened to visitors. Organized as part of the Independence Day celebrations, the annual event will remain open from August 6 to August 17, giving residents and tourists nearly two weeks to experience one of Karnataka’s biggest horticultural attractions.

This year’s exhibition revolves around the theme of one thousand years of the Ganga dynasty, highlighting the rich cultural and historical legacy of Karnataka through remarkable floral artistry. The Horticulture Department has created elaborate flower installations inspired by famous historical monuments and religious landmarks, offering visitors a blend of heritage, creativity and nature under one roof.

One of the biggest highlights of the exhibition is the impressive floral replica of the towering Bahubali statue at Shravanabelagola. The detailed artwork has been carefully designed using thousands of fresh flowers, attracting visitors immediately upon entering the famous Glass House. The floral sculpture captures the grandeur of one of Karnataka’s most celebrated monuments and reflects the immense craftsmanship involved in creating the display.

Alongside the Bahubali masterpiece, visitors can also admire beautifully designed floral replicas of the historic temples of Talakadu. These intricate creations showcase the architectural beauty of the ancient temple town while demonstrating the artistic skills of the horticulture experts who spent weeks preparing the exhibition. Apart from the floral displays inside the Glass House, several new attractions have been introduced across the Lalbagh campus. Officials expect the exhibition to attract several lakh visitors during its twelve day run. Photography enthusiasts have received some good news as mobile phone photography and videography are allowed free of charge inside the exhibition. However, those planning to use professional cameras or DSLR equipment must obtain prior permission from the Horticulture Department’s security officials before entering with such equipment.
