REDMAGIC Astra 2 Gaming Tablet Launched With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 And Huge Battery

REDMAGIC has launched its latest gaming tablet Astra 2 with a strong focus on high performance and immersive gameplay. The new tablet comes equipped with flagship hardware, a high refresh rate OLED display, and a large battery designed for extended gaming sessions.

The tablet is available globally in Black Eclipse and Silver Starfrost color options. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at 749 US dollars, which is approximately Rs 72,085. The higher 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant costs 849 US dollars, around Rs 81,710. The device is listed on the company’s official website, with Early Bird Access starting from August 10 and open sales beginning on August 26.

At the center of the REDMAGIC Astra 2 is a 9.06 inch OLED display that supports a 2.4K resolution of 2400 by 1504 pixels. The screen offers a 165Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 1600 nits peak brightness, making it suitable for gaming, video streaming, and other demanding tasks. It also features 5280Hz ultra high frequency PWM dimming technology to improve viewing comfort.

Performance is the biggest highlight of the tablet as it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset built on a 3nm process. The processor is paired with an Adreno 840 GPU for graphics performance. REDMAGIC has included up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 Pro storage, allowing users to handle heavy games and multitasking smoothly.

The device runs on Android 16 based Redmagic OS 11.5 out of the box, offering a gaming focused software experience. The company has also added a dedicated thermal management system to control heat levels during long gaming sessions and maintain stable performance.

Battery capacity is another major attraction of the REDMAGIC Astra 2. The tablet packs an 8300mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. REDMAGIC claims that the tablet can achieve faster charging through its USB Type C 3.2 Gen 2 port, reaching a full charge in around 60 minutes.

For photography and video calls, the tablet includes a 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. Security is handled by a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button. The audio setup includes dual speakers with DTS:X ULTRA certification for an enhanced gaming and entertainment experience.

Connectivity features include Wi Fi 7 support with 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB Type C 3.2 Gen 2 support.
