KEA Announces Recruitment for 767 Teacher Posts in Karnataka Residential Schools for 2026
Karnataka Examination Authority has invited online applications for 767 teaching vacancies across residential schools offering attractive salaries and recruitment through a competitive examination based merit selection process.

Candidates aspiring to build a teaching career in Karnataka have received a major opportunity as the Karnataka Examination Authority has released a fresh recruitment notification for hundreds of teaching positions. The recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies in residential schools managed by the Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society, offering qualified applicants a chance to join government educational institutions through a transparent selection process.
A total of 767 Group C teacher posts will be filled under this recruitment campaign. The vacancies include 725 regular positions and 42 backlog posts that remained unfilled during previous recruitment cycles. Interested candidates must apply online and will be selected through a competitive examination conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority.
The recruitment covers several well known residential schools operating under KREIS, including Morarji Desai Residential Schools, Kittur Rani Chennamma Residential Schools, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Residential Schools, Indira Gandhi Residential Schools and Dr BR Ambedkar Residential Schools. Officials have invited applications from eligible candidates across multiple teaching disciplines.
The notification includes vacancies for language teachers as well as subject specialists. Among the language posts, there are 103 openings for Kannada teachers, including 100 regular and three backlog vacancies. English teachers can apply for 108 posts, consisting of 100 regular and eight backlog positions. There are also 55 vacancies for Hindi teachers, including 50 regular posts and five backlog positions.
Apart from language subjects, the recruitment also covers mathematics, science, social science, computer education and physical education. Mathematics has 103 vacancies, while science has 106 openings. Social science has the highest number of vacancies with 154 positions available. The notification also includes 57 computer teacher posts and 81 physical education teacher vacancies, providing opportunities for candidates from a wide range of academic backgrounds.
The salary package is another attractive feature of the recruitment. Selected candidates will receive pay according to the revised Karnataka state government pay scale. The monthly salary ranges from Rs 54175 to Rs 99400, depending on the applicable government rules and service conditions. Along with the salary, employees will also be entitled to benefits available to government teachers under the relevant regulations.
Candidates applying for the Kannada language teacher post must meet specific educational qualifications. Applicants should possess a Bachelor of Arts degree from a recognized university with Kannada as one of the optional subjects along with a Bachelor of Education degree in Kannada. Those who have completed the four year Kannada Pandit course recognized by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board and also hold a Kannada BEd qualification are also eligible.
Applicants who did not study Kannada as an optional subject during their undergraduate education may still qualify if they have completed a postgraduate degree in Kannada from a recognized institution. These eligibility requirements have been specified to ensure that teachers possess the necessary academic foundation for classroom instruction.
The selection process will be conducted entirely through a merit based system. The Karnataka Examination Authority will organize a written competitive examination for eligible applicants. Final appointments will be made based on candidates performance in the examination along with applicable government reservation policies. Authorities have stated that the recruitment process will be transparent and free from any form of recommendation or influence.
