OnePlus Nord 4 Gets New OxygenOS Update But Some Users Report Fresh Performance Issues

OnePlus has started rolling out a new OxygenOS update for the Nord 4 in India with the July 2026 security patch but some users are already reporting launcher related problems after installing it.

OnePlus has begun rolling out a fresh OxygenOS update for the two year old OnePlus Nord 4 smartphone in India. The latest software package mainly focuses on improving device security by adding the July 2026 Android security patch. While the update is expected to make the phone safer, early feedback from some users suggests that not everyone is having a smooth experience after installation.

The update carries firmware version CPH2661 16.0.5.1001 EX01 and is currently being released only for Indian users. As with most software rollouts, it is expected to arrive in phases, meaning some eligible devices may receive it later than others. The company has not yet announced when the update will become available in international markets.

Soon after the rollout began, a few users shared their experiences on community forums. One user advised others to wait before updating, claiming that a custom launcher issue had returned. According to the feedback, pressing the home button while using a third party launcher triggers unwanted animations, making the interface feel slower and less responsive. While these reports are limited, they have drawn attention from other Nord 4 owners who are considering the update.

Users facing such issues are encouraged to report them through the OnePlus Community application. The Bug Report section inside the app allows users to submit feedback directly to the company. Indian customers can also use the built in feedback tool by dialing the designated code on their smartphone to report software related problems after installing the update.

Although the current release does not introduce major new features, it strengthens overall device security through the latest Android security patch. Security updates play an important role in protecting smartphones against newly discovered vulnerabilities and improving long term reliability.

The OnePlus Nord 4 was launched in India in July 2024 with Android 14 and arrived with a promise of four years of software upgrades along with two years of security updates. The smartphone features a 6.74 inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 processor. It offers up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage for fast performance.

For photography, the device includes a dual rear camera setup with a 50 megapixel Sony LYTIA primary sensor featuring both optical and electronic image stabilization. An 8 megapixel ultra wide camera handles wider shots, while a 16 megapixel front camera is available for selfies and video calls. The phone also supports 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second.

Battery performance remains one of the highlights of the Nord 4. It packs a 5500mAh battery with support for 100W SuperVOOC fast charging. OnePlus claims the battery can charge from nearly empty to full in around 28 minutes under supported charging conditions.

For now, users who prioritize the latest security improvements may choose to install the update, while those using custom launchers may prefer to monitor community feedback before upgrading. As more devices receive the software, a clearer picture of its overall stability is expected to emerge.
